Comparable listings
Every profile uses the same structure — address, opening hours, treatments, NHS availability and indicative prices — so you can compare practices side by side instead of ringing round.
FindMyDentist lists dental practices across England, taken from the Care Quality Commission register. We show what each practice offers, whether it treats NHS patients, and the prices it publishes, so that you can compare before you get in touch. We do not sell appointments and we take no commission.
FindMyDentist is a free directory for patients and a free listing service for dental practices in England. A profile brings together the things people ask about most: where the practice is, when it is open, which treatments it provides, whether it is taking on NHS patients, and what it charges.
Every listing comes from the Care Quality Commission register, the official register of regulated dental locations in England. Each profile shows the regulator that oversees the practice and the NHS charging system that applies to it.
FindMyDentist is funded by optional paid visibility for practices and is free for patients. Paid features never change the order of search results, and any highlighting is labelled on the profile itself.
Every profile uses the same structure — address, opening hours, treatments, NHS availability and indicative prices — so you can compare practices side by side instead of ringing round.
Profiles are reviewed before they go live, and practices can correct their own details at any time. Patient reports of out-of-date information are checked and fixed.
Search results are ordered by relevance, rating and distance. Paid highlighting is always labelled on the profile that carries it and never changes how a practice is ranked.
We collect only what is needed to run a directory and put patients in touch with practices. We do not sell personal data or run advertising profiles.
A listing is only useful if it is accurate, so every profile follows the same route to publication.
Most practices create their own profile during a free sign-up. Others are added from publicly available sources and invited to claim the record so they can keep it accurate.
We compare the address, contact details, opening hours, treatments and stated NHS availability against the sources available to us before a profile is published.
Practice teams update their own listing from the dashboard. Details such as NHS availability, waiting times and fees change often, so the practice is the authoritative source.
Anyone can report a profile that looks wrong. Reports are reviewed within seven working days and the practice is asked to confirm the correction.
Editorial standards
FindMyDentist is a directory, not a regulator. We are not the Care Quality Commission, and we do not inspect or certify practices.
Nothing on FindMyDentist is clinical advice. We do not diagnose, recommend a treatment, or tell you which practice or clinician to choose. Decisions about your dental care belong with you and a registered dental professional.
We do not verify individual clinical outcomes, and a verified badge means we have checked business details such as the practice address and registration number — not the quality of treatment.
Where a practice supplies information that we cannot confirm, the listing is labelled as practice-supplied rather than presented as fact.
Practice details in a listing are business information supplied by the practice or gathered from public sources. Where a practice manages its own profile, it is responsible for keeping those details correct and current.
When you send an enquiry through a profile, we pass it to that practice so it can reply. We keep a record of the enquiry for as long as we need it for follow-up and abuse prevention, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising.
Personal data is handled under the UK GDPR. The privacy policy lists what we collect, why we hold it, how long we keep it and how to contact our data protection officer.
Dental practices in England are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and NHS treatment is charged in three bands. Each listing carries the rules that apply to it.
Creating a profile takes about five minutes and costs nothing. If you are looking for a dentist instead, start with a search.
